These are the voyages of the Starship Entrepreneur.
Stardate: 3.20.2017
Being an entrepreneur is like Captaining a Starship.
Most days it feels like I’m “Boldly going where no woman has gone before.”
Sitting at my Captains Chair, at the helm of my computer, never at warp speed,
I face the challenges of owning a business and navigating the unknown.
You see, I’m an artist. A deeply creative soul and free spirit. I went to art school,
I think too much, I dream, I draw, I write, I make too many jokes.
I’m beyond thinking outside the box because I don’t even know where
to find the darn box.
And I create the goodies that are my product line.
So, here’s the rub. None of this is intuitive to running a successful business.
Quickbooks, pricing, FDA guidelines, labeling requirements… blah, blah, blah.
You might as well be speaking Vulcan.
But, just like James T. Kirk, I must explore every small business galaxy
I encounter on my journey.
What uncharted territory will I find? Crazy monsters? Scary villains?
On a good day, I find fellow Starship Entrepreneur Captains, exploring their
Small Business Galaxy, we exchange information on our experiences,
offer hope and help to each other.
Just like James T. Kirk, I have my victories and my failures.
Also, like him, I reflect on them in my heart, with the hope to learn and improve
for the next time.
Please join me as I catalog my journeys, trials, victories and small business life lessons.
If we’re lucky we’ll encounter some Tribbles on the way.

About: Kim is a momma, wife and small business owner.
She lives with her family in Duchess County, NY, where she enjoys her rescue dog, bunny and chickens.
Her family loves camping, hiking, geocaching, and all things Cub and Boy Scouting. She is the owner/creator of Three Sisters Herbals, LLC.,
which she affectionately calls “her other baby”.
TSH is the same age as her youngest human baby, and they are all growing up together.
