Did a Beatles pin work some Magic for my Business?

I’ve always loved to collect pins. We’ll be in a souvenir shop and I’m the one in the
basket by the register looking for the one perfect pin that represents our experience.

On our first trip to Lake George together, I squeeed with joy when my husband found
a pin that said “Lake George” with a big rainbow on it. Score!

I display them on my favorite jean jacket, because I think it’s cool.
It probably is not.
I call it my “Dork Swag”

Currently, I’m sporting a stick figure, holding a walking stick that says, “Go take a hike”
“I heart my tattoo” which I’ve had since before every hipster, freak and geek had tattoos.
“Practice Respect” Because we should.
“Perfect Pets Rescue” To honor my rescue puppy.
and The Beatles Band logo.

This is the one that gets the most comments from people.
Generally, “Oh, I like your Beatles Pin” scintillating conversationalists,
these Beatles fans are.

I’ve contemplated rotating the Beatles pin off, since it is so popular and the pins on the
jean jacket are not supposed to be a representation of conformity.
But it stays, because, well, it’s the Beatles.
And, well, the fact that I have Dork Swag leaves me a little desperate for something cool.

The swagged out jean jacket and my Converse Sneakers are wardrobe staples,
so it is not unusual to find me at a business meeting wearing them.
This day was no exception.

I walk into the shop, introduce myself and one of the first things she says is
“I like your Beatles pin”
I smile “Thank you very much”, let’s get down to business.

Almost 2 hours later we’re still sitting there talking.
Things are going well. She loves the products and wishes to carry several from our line.
She loves our “Let It Be” Aromatherapy Inhaler, and the Beatles inspired name sparks us
brainstorming ideas and there’s talk of a possible collaboration.
Sweet.

I day dream that is all made possible by my Dork Swag Beatles Pin.

My latest acquisition is a cartoon drawing of Unicorn that says “Magical”

Abracadabra, Peeps.

 Peace, Kim

Sounds like your Beatles pin is a great conversation starter. Who doesn’t love the Beatles.

When I worked in a hospital I had to wear a uniform and I always wore buttons around the holidays. I had ones for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, you name the holiday and I had a pin for it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
