Captain's Log: Building Community

As a small business owner in a small town, nestled in a beautiful valley,
I absolutely love our community. It is rich in history, natural wonders and resources.
What I especially love are the people I have met walking the path of owing my
business. I have watched a few of them over the years, as we all started our
business around the same time, build a strong community around their business.
This community strengthens the businesses value, builds a sense of trust and loyalty
and makes the businesses more well-rounded

I’ve often asked myself, “Why haven’t I done this more?”

The answers are varied, but always said out loud in my office, by myself.

“Because you work from your home.”

“Because you don’t have the time.”

Which leads to:

“How do they find the time?”

Or

“Because you don’t know how.”

These excuses, boil down to one thing.

Being a Recovering Introvert. (click here for my blog post about introvertness)

Well, excuses no more.

Nothing pops my introvert bubble like the desire to better my business.

When you are captaining the Starship Entrepreneur, you need your peeps around you.

So, I thought to myself (and by thought to myself, I really mean talked out loud to myself)

“What kind of community would I want to be a part of if I were a TSH peep?”

“Why would I want to come to TSH either on social media or the website?”

“What do all my peeps have in common?”

Besides the fact that we all talk to ourselves.

As usual, I'm thinking outside the box, if you haven't already read, you can
familiarize yourself with my feelings about "The Box" here.

Since we are a home based business, I don't have a space to host workshops,
groups or events. Since I'm a Recovering Introvert, I don't really want to...LOL

What's a Recovering Introverts best friend?
The World Wide Web. Hosting online events makes better business sense
because the reach is greater. And has the added benefit that no one has to
leave their living room.

Inspiration has graced me with a few (what I think) cool ideas, but what is more important to me is what YOU guys want.

Please share with my fun events/games/contest/challenges you would like to see TSH host.

What have you done participated in before that was really engaging and memorable?

What was a total snooze fest?

Want to learn more about something? Eco-friendly living? Frugal or minimalist lifestyle? Natural Parenting?

Can’t wait to hear what you peeps come up with!

Peace, Kim
